Apologies…

My apologies to anyone who has either wondered why I am not commenting as much as usual, visiting their blog, or, in fact, answering the hundreds of emails currently stuck in my inaccessible inbox.

Since just before Christmas, my broadband connection has been running at the speed of a somnolent snail and making my very first dial-up account look speedy…

I can, at the moment, post and I can still answer comments on my blog, but not on all blogs. No matter how long I wait or how hard I try.

And as I squished my phone when I fell on it a while back, the phone isn’t a lot of help.

I am assured that an engineer will be coming out to fix the internet problem. I hope.

But not until the 10th January… if I stay sane for that long…

  1. Oh, no. I feel your pain. It’s awful not to be connected like we are used to. Good luck.

Wish you lived nearer and I could send my man to sort out the problem! Your mention of dial-up connections reminds me of those bad old days when it seemed to take forever to connect. I think that’s when I became addicted to solitaire, playing it while I waited for the connection.

  3. A lot of us are having problems. I get lots of blink outs. Write the entire piece, try to save it, gone. Poof. I’m pretty sure WP is having issues with servers, though it could also be your local server. Hand on in there. Eventually, all will get fixed. That’s my working theory!

  10. I know where you’re coming from! Our marina wifi was the pitz, but it was free. However, sometimes we couldn’t get access at all for hours, but were assured that everything was connected and up and running (they were playing games on the phones in the office on the residents signal).
Even here things have been sluggish and Hubby has noticed that the internet is on a ‘go slow’ at certain times three or four times during the day. We lose everything for 2 minutes at midnight, but put that down to the daily changeover.
Hope it all get resolved for you soon.

Just think of this. Without the internet this conversation wouldn’t be happening. You may never have met these kind and supportive people. Take care of yourself and personal issues like banking etc. People do understand. RIGHT! JEN! she said LOL 💜😏😊 No swearing allowed! 🙂

      I know… and that’s why I love this community. I have met a fair few too 🙂
But why it should take nearly three weeks to get it fixed…? I’ll take all your advice, jen…but it is way too late for the last clause 😉

Sue? Can you give me the next winning lottery numbers? Each one of those techies you talk to has an opinion. But there’s someone of them who actually could fix things. IE. I was without my Lan Line for months. I don’t have a cell phone. When I’d use someone’s phone to call them they’d say we’ll call you back. That’s too much trouble for a favour. Finally my Superintendant decided to call them for me. I don’t know what he said but the next day (no waiting a week) a woman came in a within 1/2 an hour fixed it. You’re waiting for an Angel Sue. I’ve been off line before once or twice for two weeks running.”You need this” “You need that” then without any changes (No new equipment) miraculously its fine.
Sending you an Angel! 👼👼👼👼👼💗 or a few 🙂

I could definitely use one about now. 😉 I do have a landline… but don’t have a phone connected to it. My cell phone got well and truly squashed and is held together with sticky glass and tape… and they are offering to charge me for coming out to fix the internet…

          I definitely need an angel 😉 x

In Toronto my provider is also my phone Company. The techies can read my problems and activities from their end, unless it’s their own lines with the problem they can fix it or they come to you for free. You’re paying monthly? I am. They owe me money for down time.Maybe it’s different at your location. As I said I’m in a big city that has several providers. They don’t want to lose my business. I haven’t tried threatening yet LOL
Anyways Sue. My hopes are with you. 😌🙂💜 The internet is all connected, in some fashion. I could be talking to a techie from Brazil! lol

Hang in there Sue! I lost the internet for about a week when we moved house, 15 years ago. I still remember it with horror. Find something enjoyable, and not internet related, to do each day to take your mind off things. I’m sure Ani could be persuaded to take you for multiple walks… -huge hugs-
