Super purple haiku, Sue. I love those little purple flowers – we’ve got them all over our front lawn. Do you know what they’re called? I agree they don’t get the attention they deserve! 🙂

They are selfheal, prunella vilgaris, I think…an old herb used for a lot of folk treatments.

It does. The old names linger for many herbs and their lore takes us back centuries 🙂 Have you come across the Cotton MS Vitellius C III? An illustrated herbal from the early years of the last millennium… well worth a look ( there’s a digital version online). x
