
The Andle Stone is a boulder, fifteen feet long, and covered with prehistoric cup and ring marks. It stands on Stanton Moor in Derbyshire, between the stone circles of Doll Tor and Nine Ladies. there is no question that it was a significant place for our ancestors, yet it is carved with footholds for casual climbers and centuries of grafitti.
Mankind has always wanted to make his mark in stone.
