I have been following Sue Vincent for a time, but have yet to participate in her daily #writephoto challenge. The picture she posted this week brought my dear vampire, Elisabeth (or Elizabeth, depending on the context) to mind.

His final words rested in a pile of ash at her feet.

She ached to purge every remnant of his existence from the world, but her heart wouldn’t allow it. He saw to that when he placed the letter atop the very jewelry box he gave her more than two centuries ago.
