Where one has come from,
One has to know where one is going…”

Not sure I understand that, Stuart. Where one has come from is the past: where one is going is the future. But the only reality is the present – Now. The past when it was here, was Now; the future when it gets here will be Now. It seems to me that where one presently ‘is’ – which is the only place one will ever be – is, necessarily, the source of you all will ever know. Or am I misunderstanding something?

I think you got that pretty much spot on, Jeff.

Really glad you agree Sue. I think it’s that simple. But it goes against so much we are ever taught or brought up to believe that it can seem almost like heresy or just simplistic nonsense. To quote the American journalist and satirist, H.L.Menken, who died 60 years ago now – “We are here and it is now. Beyond that all human knowledge is moonshine.”

Succinct.
Though one could debate whether Stuart was writing about ‘where’ or ‘when’… ultimately, I think they are all One.

Sorry! Excuse the typo in the last but one line. Should read – ‘the source of all you will ever know’.
