I caught a glimpse of colour against the darkness.

Watched as it grew, played, lightened and softened night into morning.

We travel the world in search of wonders…
forgetting the magic to be found on our own back doorstep.

Great shots Sue – we had a nice sunrise yesterday, but it is (surprise surprise) raining now 😦

Looks set fair to be a nice day here for a change… but the sunrise was beautiful today 🙂

Forget about the magic on our back doorstep, we tend not even noticing that magic right in front of us. Lovely post.

There have been so many beautiful skies in Britain this winter. It never ceases to warm the heart.

It is about the only real warmth we’ve had for a while though, isn’t it? Roll on spring 🙂

The first shot reminded me of Van Gogh – just put the spiral like moon image right up there and it is exactly that! Really lovely sky you have there, Sue. 🙂

It does have that feel… as if the hand of the creator painted that sky fresh this morning. Which is true enough.

Lovely pictures Sue. I took a few one morning taking the dog out first thing, and the colours were beautiful. All different in the space of five minutes, never to be recaptured, so I’m glad I had the camera that day.

That’s why I don’t move far without mine as a rule… you just never know what you’ll miss. Won’t be long now before I’ll be taking it out with Ani, but it is still full dark when we go out first thing.

Simply stunning photography, Sue. It’s given me an idea for my weekly photo challenge.
Such a change in the weather here in Wales today. I hope the cold crispy days are back soon.

Cold and crispy here today… or at least, I feel crispy with the cold 🙂

I hope it’s the cold outside, rather than the sneezy one. If the latter, then Get Well Soon.

Just the cold outside…looking forward to the moment I can thaw in a hot bath.

It’s always breathtaking to look up at the sky. I don’t know why we ignore it so much. Instead we’re always looking down.

I agree… it doesn’t really matter what it is doing…just its vastness is enough for wonder.

Stunning views, Sue. Did it rain later that day – you know the old adage ‘Pink in the morning, sailors take warning.’

I love both the dawn and sunset. I sit watching the dawn out of the window sometimes and see those amazing colours you’ve captured here. One of the things which always gets me is how very beautiful they are and how short the time they are on display before the clouds either vanish into the darkness or grow to their standard shade of pale, which is beautiful, of course, but not spectacular in the way your recorded sunset was 🙂

This was dawn today… a bright morning followed by the all-too-usual rain. It is so easy to miss… only lasting those very few minutes and at this time of year, timed to coincide with most people’s rush to get organised. Yet no matter what we are doing, or even if the clouds obscure it, such glory happens every day. I find that beautiful in itself.

That is so true, Sue. But I hope I can still see a bit more of the world before my time here is done, whilst also appreciating what I have here at home.

I’d like to too, Ali, but I’ll settle for seeing more of my own isles…there is still far too much I want to see here 🙂
