Whiter than the swan on a lake
Whiter than the gull of the stream
Whiter than snow on the high-peak.
*
Like a wave of the sea from ebb to flood
Slender as the tall-birch, blowing…
Of a shape sweet as full-bodied clover, bobbing…
Of a colour fair as summer’s bright-morn, glowing…
Your presence, the dawning glory of the land.
*
Lovely the sun’s smile, rising…
Lovely the moon’s sheen, climbing…
Lovely the stars gleam, shining…
More lovely, the blush of your cheek.
*
Love, Don x

Beautiful. I know you miss her more than all of us, it’s hard to imagine. Thinking of you and Ani everyday. ❤️

Your love comes through with every word. I know how heart-broken you all are, but keeping her alive for us heals us, too. Love to you, Alex, Nick, and of course Ani.

Hugs and ❤ to you and Ani. Each time I think of her, I whisper a prayer for you all and her family. Therefore, you all are in my thoughts and prayers so often, as spring softly unfolds here and I say, "Hey, Sue! Look! the first Robin here!" 🙂

Sue had something of an affinity with robins… 😉

I saw it and kept my promise to her, that I made, when it appeared I would never make it to visit her and she would never be here to explore our landscape, history, etc. I’ve gazing upon Orion’s Belt often the past few days, and I instantly thought of her when I saw the robin – I promised to say, once it was easier to just think it with intent, to do so – to have the ‘conversations’ we never got to have in person – I’m really hoping I ain’t flooding her universal email inbox/txt messaging just yet, but I just laugh at that thought – She will manage it just as well there as she did here – 🙂

Good to hear Stuart. She must be feeling a little lost and confused without Sue, so it is good she has familiarity with you. Hugs and treats by proxy, bless her.

Sweet poem, Stuart, love is unending. Sending healing thoughts your way. 🙏 Glad to hear Ani is adjusting. Animals are better at this than we are.

Such a loving poem from the depths of sadness, Stuart.
I hope you are managing somehow and that poor Ani is comforting you as much as you are her. x
