The Brown Bear was once a resident of these isles and very much a part of both our history and legends. A few years ago, I took my son to Whipsnade and wrote about the conservation work being done there and the possibility of reintroducing these and other beautiful creatures that no longer live here in the wild.

It’s sad when we see them in enclosures in zoos.

It is, but at least this place gives them space and helps hugely with the conservation of endangered species.

I know but they weren’t supposed to be in danger of extinction. The human folly and greed has done this.
