I love bumblebees. Their apparently lazy flight fills summer gardens with a constant subliminal hum, yet their presence assures the garden’s survival as the pollinate the plants. It is a sadness to know that their numbers are in decline, largely through mankind’s own desire to control Nature on an industrial scale. Ironically, their industry saves Industry billion of pounds every year.
Many fear these furry creatures because of their sting, though only the females are so armed. They are peaceful creatures and will not attack unless they or their nests are threatened. I can relate to that.

I adore bees and know how important they are to the survival of mankind on this planet. I’m sure the big companies who are doing their level best to erradicate them, know this too and ignore it. xxx

Such could open the door to power for the unscrupulous… or protect from the political situations in the hands of good men.
My village is a Rothschild village… and the family have done much to support and sustain the area and its people. But that is down to the individuals, not corporations… xx

Lovely post, Sue. I find bees fascinating but I am very allergic to them. I leave them alone and hope that they leave me alone [smile].

They are such funny gentle creatures. We try to keep blooming plants around as much of the year as possible for them. One of my nephews is a major bee supplier and keeper. I worry how all moving hives around to fields affects them.
People don’t realize we’re sunk if bees disappear.

My garden at the new place its pretty sparse yet…I’ve always planted for bees and butterflies before, but as I am out in the country, there is no shortage of wildflowers for them.
No… too few realise how depenant we are on our bees…
