What To Do When One Of Your Blog Posts Is Reblogged #bloggingtips – Hugh’s Views & News

One the nicest things another blogger can do is to share one or more of our blog posts. I remember when one of my posts was reblogged for the first time. As a new blogger, it was one of the most wonderful feelings I had, and I was excited that my post was now in front of thousands of new readers. Even today, I still get those same feelings whenever one of my posts is reblogged.

Unless you’ve chosen to turn off all your WordPress notifications, then you will get an email notification from WordPress when one of your posts is reblogged. It will tell you the following information –

which post has been reblogged
who has reblogged it
the number of followers the post has been reblogged to

    Always considerate to ask if it’s OK to reblog. Reblogging is a great compliment and a very nice idea. I like it best when a blog writer puts a little personal intro. or comment about the reblogged post on it .
    But some blogs you’d really not be a part of and there are those who offer no original content of their own and only have reblogs. Don’t know what you do about those. Periodically I turn the WP reblogging option off

      Yes, I agree. The intro to a reblog is very important and give the person reblogging a chance to say why they are reblogging the post.
      I’ve unfollowed a few blogs who do nothing but reblog other posts and not add any of their own content. It can become very overwhelming when reblog after reblog occurs within a very small time frame. I think it puts many people off. I tend to turn off the email notifications from that blog and only then view posts from the WP reader (if I have any time left to do that).
