Good morning!
It looks as if we will have another beautiful day here in the West Country. Wincanton awaits and the Discworld Spring Fling. Should be fun.
In an effort to unstiffen I went for an early walk. So many beautiful things to see. It occurred to me as I strolled how often we wander around closed to beauty and possibility. We go off into the countryside or parks looking for ‘scenery’, not noticing what is under our very noses.
We take so many things for granted because they are familiar, yet a little awareness changes what we see. It is all in the focus. If we are watching the time to get the kids to school or get to the office on time, do we really see the world around us? If we are stressing over the details of daily life and constrained by timetables, is there enough of our attention given to the possibilities the day might hold?
I don’t think so most of the time. We get lost, shorten our focus and see only what, perhaps, we expect to see.
So this morning’s photographs are brought to you from the car park of a small, chain hotel beside a motorway. I could see tarmac and function. I choose to see beauty even here.
Have a wonderful day. We intend to!

Hear hear- Beauty is indeed everywhere, waiting for the eye of the mindful beholder 🙂
Enjoy the West- I used to live in Devon- I can personally recommend the clotted cream Devonshire teas 😀

Love how you captured the beauty in the more mundane scenes of life. I like to think that if all else fails, one need only look up at the sky 🙂

How wonderful! The feather reminded me of a story I read, of a guy, first introduced to the “We create our own reality” school of thought, who went to bed, picturing a feather – so unique and so different from anything he had seen before, so that if he did happen upon it the next day, he would know this hypothesis really worked….
He went forth the next day, the feather showed up and he never looked back….
