Off the hook

It took her six days to adopt a new ball,

Although she seems happy, she’s not sure at all…

She still gets confused and seeks out her old friend,

But at least now the guilt I’ve been feeling may end.

*

She’s still a bit cautious and not quite at ease

But with luck, accusation has now been appeased.

She’s been playing ‘fetch’…although I fetch the ball

She’s not understood the game’s rules yet at all…

*

Or maybe she has, and it’s me in my folly

Allowing the dog to make me look a wally,

I don’t really care, I’m just happy to see

A happy small dog smiling once more at me.

  8. Oh Sue, I know what you mean. When we emptied the shipping container to move onto the boat, Mggie’s toy bag got sent to charity by mistake! No babies, no stuffed toys, she had nothing. We tried to rectify it, but she wasn’t interested and in the end she just had us. She has a new baby now, a stuffed bunny that Hubby took the squeaker out of. Somehow I think she wishes it squeaks, but she does snuggle up to it at night sometimes.

A good news poem but wouldn’t it be great to check the other side of THAT fence. Have you checked that the power is on Sue?
