Notes from a Small Dog – Abandoned

P1190268She’s away gallivanting, leaving me with my friends all alone to play with Gooch and Hardy…

All she’s been doing is tapping away at the ‘puter for ages… ‘proofing’, she says… ‘not now’ and ‘just a minute’ she says… Boring…

Then, when I try to keep her active … with the ball, you know… ‘Ani!’ she says… How was I to know all the petals would fall off the lilies? If you ask me, flowers should stay in the garden… or at least when she’s looking. If she picks them that’s okay… if I pick ‘em, all I get is ‘Ani…’

You can prob’ly tell… I’m not best pleased with her. Want to know why?

Easy.

They won’t let me in their new book….!

Now, personally, I think there’s a bit of jealously going on here. Just because only one of us gets fan mail… and reviews… and home-baked treats in the post…

P1160351Not that I’d be daft enough to get mixed up in their nefairyus daft schemes anyway…

So, although she says she’s away Doing Stuff, I think she’s just too ashamed of herself…

Not that this ploy is going to work, mind you. Leaving me behind is all very well, but as I am a literate dog, she can at least stay in touch. No excuses.

And one of us likes going out for long walks in the cold, rain and mud… not my fault she’s fur-less, after all…

And even if she has to bathe me, I know who’ll end up the wettest…

Anyway. ‘Nuff said… you get the idea… Reprisals…

When she comes home….

So she’d been Up To Stuff and too busy to write much while she’s away and was going to post some of ‘her’ most popular posts again… till she saw they were all mine. Heh

I told her she might as well post some of the older stuff… nobody had read it anyway… Not like my stuff.  ‘Okay,’ she said, ‘but we’ll have to update it…’ None of this ‘we’ business, she was on her own, I told her.ani smiling

And she can bring me some treats back too…

Gallivanting. At her age…Honestly…

Don’t you two-legses ever grow up either?

Much love,

Ani xxx

Oh, Ani, you must see that she ADORES you. Remember how worried she was when you ran off FOR HOURS (with not a woof as to where you were) and how relieved she was when you finally were found? She has to work to get you all those treats, so she deserves to ‘gallivant’ if she wants to. Now there, be a good pup and give us that laughing face! 🙂

Oh, Ani, I feel for you being abandoned so often. When she goes gallivanting – er, maybe researching is a better expression – I’m sure she feels guilty. I wouldn’t worry about not being in their next book – she’ll see sense one day and give you another book – all to yourself.

Uh oh! Ani definitely doesn’t look pleased. I know that look. I’ve been on the receiving end from my babies. Scary stuff. Good luck!

  15. Ah. My little heart goes pitter-patter. I’m sure it hurts her to leave you behind. I’m sure she’s planning surprises for you to make up for her absence. Hang tight.: -)

  17. Home made treats in the post? I don’t get any of those, Ani. As for not having flowers in the house, I agree. If I can’t bring sticks and old punctured rugby balls into the house then why should flowers be allowed in?

Power to the canines my friend.
