Use the image below to create a post on your own blog… poetry, prose, humour… light or dark, whatever you choose, by noon (GMT) Wednesday 5th October and link back to this post with a pingback. Please make sure that the pingback works and if not, copy and paste your link into the comments section of this post.
Don’t forget to use the #writephoto hashtag in your title so your posts can be found on Twitter.
You can find all last week’s entries in the round-up. Please visit and read the stories and poems and explore the sites of their writers.
The first few posts will feature on the blog during the week and all posts will be included in a round up on Thursday 6th October.
Feel free to use #writephoto logo or include the prompt photo in your post if you wish or you can replace it with one of your own to illustrate your work.
Have fun!

Hi Lois… it took me a while to work out too 🙂 Just insert the URL of my post somewhere in yours as a link, then it lets me know you have posted and linked back. Hugh has one of his very informative articles on it here. https://hughsviewsandnews.com/2016/01/23/how-to-become-a-successful-blogger-part-2-how-to-create-a-pingback/

I have been reading a lot of other writer’s take on this photo and it is interesting that a lot of us have been filled with sadness and longing. Here is my take on it. Thanks Sue for providing this space for us writers.

Thanks, Bernadette. Every week I am surprised by the wide ranging views people take on the prompt photos, yet there is often an underlying kernel of emotion that seems to weave itself through the stories.

Hi Sue,
I didn’t think this would be written in time but here is my offering. A lighter tale from my usual offerings.

I thought I’d play along. My first write photo and it was a bit dark, but that was the mood and so I went with it. Here is the link: http://wp.me/p4XBIO-1XY

Sorry. I had a dark mood and went with the flash of gloom.

Sometimes that happens… and it would be a shame to waste the moment as a writer 😉

I totally agree and have ignored my desire to write for so long. So, now, I need to really make the time for it and write when the mood is there.

I know! There are times when I am driving or in the middle of something and I think of a poem, line or plot and life interrupts these moments of writing clarity. ugh.

Oh I hate that…and do it all the time. And it is always when you can’t actually get at the pen/paper/phone or anything useful!

I know! I am going to start carrying around a recorder or use my voice memo option on my phone! I do actually have some poem lines on my recorder now that I mention it….

Now that you mention it…I probably have some stuff on there from months ago too… I always have to be driving when I think I should use the phone’s recorder though…

Glad I could remind you! I forget about the phone recorder so much that I have never used it, lol.

I started using it… but as I said, always found myself on roads where I couldn’t pull pver to switch it on 🙂 Must do something about that…
