Thank you to everyone who participated in this week’s photo prompt. Some posts have been reblogged, but please click on the links below to visit all the posts and leave a comment for the author! A new prompt will be published later today.
The photograph was taken on one of the Silent Eye weekend workshops. The stepping stones cross the River Wharfe below the town… and were used for an impromptu exercise in trust that must have looked like utter madness, but which was both beautiful and revealing.
A momentary poise stops the heart
In fear or anticipation
On the edge of experience.
Only the void and the flowing waters
No spar to grasp, no hand to hold,
Only decisions.
No standing still as the waters churn,
Onward or backward,
The only choice.
Fear rules the past,
Trust holds the future
Of the present.
A momentary flight stops the world,
Poised above the stream
In perfect freedom,
Moment to moment
In ceaseless motion
As the river that you are
Flows on.
