Incessant rainfall
Temperate British summer
Nice weather for ducks

Those who can fly south
Seeking sun in other climes
In warmer waters

A lot of it about this year, but we can’t complain when ther water is so much needed.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a red-headed duck before. I wonder if they’re native across the pond, or I’m just not observant enough?

There are several species of them. I’m not certain this is a native species…perhaps just a visitor. I’m not a duck expert 🙂

These are beautiful photos. It is so much fun to watch the ducks on our lake. They are curious creatures and will practically walk right up to you to see what you are doing.

In the winter when the lake behind our house freezes, they try to walk across the ice. One leg goes this way, the other that way. It is hilarious.

She loves the snow. The thin ice on the little pond took her by surprise though 🙂
