The photograph was taken near St David’s in Wales at Whitesands beach on the first day of our Whispers in the West weekend.

Hy-Brasil.
He wades through the shallows.
Long years has he waited, watching the sunlight sparkle on the waves and the stars light the foam.
He has watched through the rain and mists, eyes on the empty horizon.
They call him mad. Children point at him, adults jeer.
He smiles.
Once, long ago, he glimpsed it beyond the silver path across the sea. Once, long ago, when he was young. His Grandfer had told him… but he’d had other fish to fry then.
She is gone now. They are all gone.
He is old, free to chase phantoms.
To seek the truth…
