Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 20 – “Solitude”

solitude

Solitude comes at dawn when I am alone with the world beneath a molten sky. Whether I am walking with the small dog or taking the long road home from the north, it is a time when alone is never lonely.

It is impossible to do anything other than revel in such solitude. There is, or so it seems, only me and the wide, painted sky ablaze with light and colour. It is an intimate moment when I touch and am embraced by the heart of Nature. Sometimes a kite soars overhead, a silhouette against the gold. A creature alien to the land, born to sail the skies…and my heart soars with it.

And sometimes, the earth beneath my feet is that of home. Its gilded bones and mine are kin, singing the same song to the morning… and beauty calls forth joy to fall as dew on the heather.
