Silent- photo prompt

P1050426

We were walking near a river one day and came across this old, abandoned watermill. The odd glow may have been something to do with the camera lens… but it adds a strange touch to the picture… and makes it perfect for a photo prompt.

Create a post on your own blog… poetry, prose, humour… by Wednesday 23rd March and link back to this post with a pingback. The first few posts will feature on the blog during the week and all posts will be included in a round up on Thursday.

Feel free to use the photo in your post if you wish.

Have fun!

Sue Vincent was a Yorkshire born writer, esoteric teacher and a Director of The Silent Eye. She was immersed in the Mysteries all her life. Sue maintained a popular blog and is co-author of The Mystical Hexagram with Dr G.M.Vasey. Sue lived in Buckinghamshire, having been stranded there due to an accident with a blindfold, a pin and a map. It is a lovely picture. The forgotten water wheel–or is it a grain harvester?–alongside the building strikes a mysterious note. What happened here to leave this so abandoned? Where are the people? Did you stumble on this place out of time and space? Will it disappear back into the fog for another hundred years? Does it feel haunted? I’m a practical person, and I generally don’t believe in ghosts…until I look at pictures and I can feel the eyes of the past staring out at me.

Norman hadn’t been back to the Mill in 70 years. He shuffled forward but a hand restrained him.
    ‘Careful. No accidents.’
    Norman nodded. ‘Martin.’
One man frowned. ‘Who’s Martin?’ A second said, ‘His brother. He died here, as a kid. Norman’s been asking to come for the last ten years.’
    ‘Why now?’
‘He’s not long left. It won’t harm, one final farewell.’
    ‘Does he understand?’
    ‘Look.’
Norman had knelt down, tears streaking his cheeks. He looked at the men.
    ‘Poor old soul.’
Norman shook his head. ‘Me. I kill Martin.’ He made a pushing gesture with both hands. ‘Little shit.’
