About Sue Vincent
Sue Vincent was a Yorkshire born writer, esoteric teacher and a Director of The Silent Eye. She was immersed in the Mysteries all her life. Sue maintained a popular blog and is co-author of The Mystical Hexagram with Dr G.M.Vasey. Sue lived in Buckinghamshire, having been stranded there due to an accident with a blindfold, a pin and a map. She had a lasting love-affair with the landscape of Albion, the hidden country of the heart. Sue passed into spirit at the end of March 2021.
I was determiend to have an early night tonight but when I saw this post come in I realised I’d failed! Where is it? It reminds me of the spiral at Charles Jencks garden of cosmic speculation. Here’s a link: http://www.charlesjencks.com/#!the-garden-of-cosmic-speculation/photostackergallery4=7

It is a touch older than Jencks’ garden… which I would dearly love to see for myself… this is Silbury Hil at Avebury.

I should have recognised it from the tour you took us on a few weeks ago. Probably where Jencks got his ideas! I think you’d enjoy his garden; it is pretty amazing.

I’ve seen as many pics as I can… One if these days I’ll get there. This photo was taken from a different angle from most and shows how the hill seems to hide below the horizon until you are right upon it.

Is this Silbury Hill?

Yes it is, seen from the lane that runs into Avebury itself… where you can see how cleverly it is constructed in comparison to the surrounding landscape.

Great haiku Sue. Do you know if archaeologists have checked the mound out?

They have, Denis. Silbury Hill is at Avebury, one of the most important sites in the country… and this is the largest man made prehistoric mound in Europe, being the same kind of size as soe of the Egyptian pyramids.
