So… I’m back… temporarily, as I have another long drive tomorrow. The weekend workshop was wonderful… I have so many stories to share… the Beast and I are reunited and she is sleeping peacefully at my feet…
But I was dreading the inboxes….
Except… they were pretty much empty. At least, compared to usual. Normally a weekend away nets me a four figure batch to go through when I get home. This time there were no more than 400… which is awfully quiet.
And it appears that everyone had very kindly stopped blogging while I was away too… according to my inbox anyway… I wasn’t inclined to believe that somehow…
A quick glance at the blog’s admin pages soon put me right on that one though… all the settings for notifications for all my favourite blogs have, somehow, been turned off. And not by me.
I just spent the past hour reinstating them one by one. I hope.
So my apologies if I have dropped off the radar over the weekend… and I sincerely hope I have rectified the glitch!

So glad you had a great weekend and that yo have been reunited with the tennis ball-loving fiend!

Maybe Ani did it because you went away and left her!

Oh, you’ll have missed my interview over on Bodicia’s A Wise Woman blog if yours were all turned off! Thursday.

WordPress does that to me periodically too. First, I’m grateful for the day off. Then I get suspicious and go check … and everything is set to “no mail” … and half my “follows” are entirely missing. I think it happens when THEY do some kind of software reset.

So do I… I do wish they would leave well alone….

I’m so glad the workshop went well! You didn’t miss anything from me. I have a week and a half to go to get all my dissertation chapters revised and in the hands of my committee for review so have been barely keeping up! It’s been much easier to comment on others’ posts than post something myself.

Good luck, Eilis… though I am sure you won’t need it!

I’m just wondering now how many have gone missing and who I’ve missed!

All sorts of strange things are happening. Comments that you do not notice one minute but are there later when you scroll back through. WordPress also deciding that it will ‘unfollow’ you from certain blogs whether you want to or not! Weird!

I know… call me reactionary, but at least the old notifications system worked…

It has to be said that WP are awfully good at these glitches!

Trouble is, they are so good at everything else 😦

I agree entirely. I hate it when somebody decides to go self-hosted or moves to another blog platform because it’s never as easy to do the liking or commenting or reblogging!

I’m with you on that one, Sarah!

WordPress knew you needed the break; so considerate.

I have to say… there was an element of relief at the inboxes… but rather offset by the amount of time it will take to get everything back… 🙂

And here I thought everyone was out enjoying the nice weather… I better go check my settings now, too! Just in case!
Your bluebells are gorgeous, btw!

As to nice weather.. I drove through a snowstorm this morning 🙂

Oh, my, really? Such crazy weather lately. I heard that you’ve had late frosts messing with the fruit blossoms and newly set fruit. Ach!

WP is so glitchy… A few times some of my favorite blogs were dropped, and not be me.

I have to check my subscriptions to blogs as I suspect the same thing has happened to some of mine. Strange.
