Notes from a small dog XXXVII

IMGP1329

Well, the garden is coming along nicely with this nice sunshine. A lot of avian activity to be dealt with though, but I’ve always liked gardening, ever since I was a puppy. I thought you could see some old pics today.

She needn’t think I don’t know what’s going on… She may call me a daft dog, but we all know that’s simply not true.

She’s bought extra food for me that she hasn’t unpacked … and she’s doing stuff under the bonnet of the car. She can be as careful as she likes… but come on people… I know she’s going away again… Which means I get to go play with my friends for a few days… whoohoo!!!

Ani day 2 048She appears to be diving round like a headless chicken. Not a roast one… they are a bit more interesting really, don’t you think. I like roast chicken, but she never makes it any more. Christmas… a girl can’t go a year between chickens, surely… I mean, you’d have to call the RSPCA or something! I’m not quite sure what that stands for… Royal Society for Provision of Chickens to Ani, I think. And if it doesn’t, it should.

Mind you, I’ll be glad of the chance to play… she’s too busy just now to play fetch and seems to object to the well chewed ball on the silky stuff she has draped all over the place. She squeaks. I’m half expecting her to sew my tail into something…

When she’s not sewing, she’s doing really weird stuff in the kitchen with a big stone thing. Top secret she says… I’ve no idea what she’s playing at there at all…April she says… I’m no wiser…’cept I think I’m going on another play weekend then…

Ani day 2 037She’ll come back with her shoes smelling of really interesting stuff and I’ll get to sniff out all the news of people I know, and some I don’t. She says I might even finally get a sniff of my mate Jumble, and if she’s going to see him and leaving me behind I think that’s dead mean! She says she can’t drive hundreds of miles with me leaning on her shoulder. Personally, I don’t see why not. I keep her company.. and that bit between the front seats with the gear knob thingy is a really good place to stand and watch. I like the car. She brought me home in a car with my boy to look after me.

Yeah, I know I’m supposed to be good in the car and stay where I’m fastened, but so far she hasn’t quite managed to  find anything that keeps me in one place when there is so much going on… She has mentioned something called a seat harness though… Not sure I like the sound of that but if it means I get to go more places, I suppose I can put up with it. Some things are worth the trouble… and a little sacrifice.

IMGP0213It’s a bit like having two bowls of biscuits on the scales really… they don’t balance till you take some out of the fullest one and put them in the other bowl. Which might mean I get a bit less for breakfast… but I will get more than I would have done for dinner, so it all works out in the end, doesn’t it?

So if I can only look out of the back window to go places, I suppose I can live with that…

Speaking of breakfast, it is about that time….

Better go see what’s keeping her… and check if she’s left my boy’s birthday cake unattended… you never know your luck…a 014

Much love,

Ani xxx

Honestly Susan, if you could have seen her this morning, both paws hooked round the door trying to pull it open while I tried to wrestle it shut… she was after following my son’s birthday cake…. 🙂

  5. Oh Ani! You are so funny and so adorable all at the same time 🙂 You are the cutest little dog I have seen! and you are right…chickens…a whole year without chicken? How! Is this possible?!! It certainly isn’t in Wolfie life 🙂 I must have chickens at least once daily…if not much, much more frequently! I know you understand this need lol 😉

Wolfie, I’m sure they are absolutely necessary… I have spoken to her severely … and even though her ears didn’t go down, I’m sure she got the message 😉
