HUG Award

hug-award1

I usually post awards on their own page, but this one, I felt, was slightly different. I would like to pass my deepest thanks to Ajay for adding my name to the list.

Like him, reading what the original designers of this award had intended, and what he had passed on through them, I was deeply touched. We write for many reasons, we share snapshots of our lives, or hopes, our fears and dreams. We try and share the things that matter, and when there is a like on an entry, a comment, a follow, that matters. When a fellow writer passes on something like this, it matters very much indeed.

I began this blog for my son, and continue it for the School… two things that are so deeply entwined in my very being that they are bound with the threads of life itself. That I have received such incredible support for both is just beautiful and amazes me.

“The HUG Award©is for people who have a hope or an expectant desire that the work or talents they use in things such as blogging, public speaking, charity work, etc., will make a positive impact on the world.

These people do not have to actively use the word “hope” in their work or creative talents.  They only need be conscious of their desire to make the world a better place for everyone.

These people use their available resources–a smile, a hug, a helping hand, a listening ear, a voice, time, money, possessions, education, personality, talent, websites and blogs—to make a positive impact on the world and make the world a better place to live.”

In turn, I would like to nominate:

Benjamin who brings art, beauty and poetry and an incredible and beautiful soul to my world daily.

Arash, whose journey is hope itself

Alesia who faces the world with courage and laughter and is not afraid of tears

Alienora whose personal journey is played out daily, holding a frank and occasionally bawdy candle to the world.

Not least, as this is not a blogging award, to my son Nick and his Faith, both of whom inspire me with so much hope every single day.

There are many others I could add to the list, I find inspiration, hope and beauty in the world every day, through the written and visual world as well as in the hearts of my fellow man.

Thank you.

In Light,

Sue
