  1. Good reblog Sue with the winter months coming up.. We have a carbon monoxide alarm on the boat as well as a smoke alarm. Priority when we took possession as it didn’t have one and we have a gas cooker.

I have spent the past year adjusting to a brain injury, (which will in time heal itself), due to an issue with the combo-boiler in the house, which had a gas leak. My symptoms became worse and worse, with sudden unconsciousness, memory loss, jumbled words, stumbling, fatigue, blurry eyes and more…I was told by a leading gas company that; it was an old boiler and what I was smelling, was dust…I protested, and eventually began to believe I was imagining the smell, and that I had early Alzheimers. Long story short; my GP sent me for every test possible, to get to the bottom of it. I will have a reassessment of the brain injury this November. It has been a huge challenge, and my lifestyle has had to be adjusted dramatically…There are days when I have wondered how I have coped.

There are so many awful stories about the dangers of carbon monoxide out there and yet it is still something we forget to take seriously… and we should. I am so sorry you have had to go through this, Ashtara and hope the healing progresses rapidly.
