Spiral…
They crowd around the window on the world, clamouring to get in, seeking the smallest possibility of ingress. One by one, they squeeze their way through… glimpses of colour on the winding stairs, as they scuttle off into the shadows, lost from view in the turns of the spiral.
Some climb the risers, step by step, each one a mountain that leads to the tower…or the clear light of day and a vista of stars. Others slide into the depths and dungeons, finding a fetid hole in which to fester…
And there they wait, lurking unseen to waylay the unwary.
You have to be careful… ideas get everywhere…
