Thanks to the Story Reading Ape for the heads up 🙂
Our users — and your sites’ visitors — share millions of WordPress.com posts every day across social networks, and today we’re excited to announce sharing buttons for three more services: WhatsApp, Telegram, and Skype.

Here’s how to set up the new buttons:
- Go to My Sites → Sharing.
- Select the Sharing Buttons tab, and then Edit Sharing Buttons.
- Select any of the three new options (in addition to our many other sharing possibilities).
Learn more here, or watch this handy video:
Now, in addition to sharing on social platforms like Facebook and Twitter, you can share on some of the world’s most popular messaging apps.
We’re excited to offer these new buttons — and, as always, you can contact us in support if you have more questions.

That’s so cool! I have a niece that lives in Japan with her husband. We communicate a lot via WhatsApp, so I’d love to be able to share blog posts with her with the app. Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

Well… I was actually just looking at your new buttons in the next post up, and now I understand! Lol! I haven’t seen the WP post yet, so cheers, Sue. 😊 I wish they’d sort out the Stumble upon button. When I press it from reading a post on my phone (which is how I read most of them) it just comes up with a ‘get the mobile app’ ad. Useless!
Oh and I use What’s app all the time. My mum, sis and bro and me have a group What’s app, so we can all chat together… were all in different countries, and it works great!

I have to say I don’t use the mobile much for the blogging side of things…yet. No doubt that will come, but I hate the tiny buttons…I always miss 🙂
