Sue Vincent was a Yorkshire born writer, esoteric teacher and a Director of The Silent Eye. She was immersed in the Mysteries all her life. Sue maintained a popular blog and is co-author of The Mystical Hexagram with Dr G.M.Vasey. Sue lived in Buckinghamshire, having been stranded there due to an accident with a blindfold, a pin and a map. She had a lasting love-affair with the landscape of Albion, the hidden country of the heart. Sue  passed into spirit at the end of March 2021.

        Hope you are well…doubtful I’ll make the Cow and Calf – I have to have some injections in my knee and I will probably be immobile for a few days the Dr. says. Then it’s a knee replacement. If I can come I certainly will 🙂

          Steve let me know… that is such a shame, James, but the knees come first… and I know what those injections do (and why they have to be had sometimes!) . Next time won’t be too long, I hope… and I hope all goes well and gets you back out on the moor x

            Thanks Sue – it has been a year since I have walked more than a couple of miles on the moors. And my friend Paul Bennett rang me last night to say he unearthed an old reference another circle on Ilkley moor, and it is visible on Google Earth Pro – and I need to get out there and find it 😦 😦 😦 Hopefully I will get my new knee in a couple of weeks then I will be out again 🙂

                he has an amazing knowledge of the moors – he knows of at least 3 circles which no one else knows about – spy glass hill, hazel and this new one..and I may have found one near the doubler stones which needs checking out (when my knee is better)…i’ll ask him for the grid ref for the new circle but I have a feeling he may want to check it out himself first….i have spent many a day on rombalds with him and the guy just blows me away, his knowledge is second to none…you must meet him sometime…

                I plan on taking you up on your earlier invitation to meet Paul one of these days when your knees are sorted 🙂 The information he gives on his site… and the things read between words… is simply incredible and shows his love for the place.

                get hold of ‘The Old Stones of Elmet’ if you can…it is old but still excellent. I bought it before I met him and his writing and knowledge is profound

                He is planning to write a new series of books on Rombalds and surrounding areas – The Mythic Landscape series – or something. He has asked me if he can use some of my photos. It is a long term project – maybe a year or two but it should be good. He has a library of over 15000 titles to draw upon – many rare and out of print.

                Those I will be buying without a doubt when they come out. I can imagine that library… but there is nothing like having his feel for the land.
