Yes it does! Beautiful anemones, are these in your garden?

No, I just stumbled across them in the rain… couldn’t make my mind up if they were anemones or a meconopsis.

Pretty sure meconopsis is only blue and may bloom a bit later.

We get wild meconopsis cambrica here.. very delicate looking, but very hary, in shades of yellow and orange… this isn’t cambrica, but it has a look of it, and they are in flower already, which is why I wondered.

Thanks for introducing me to another poppy! Welsh poppy is a real beauty. Pretty sure that your shot is Anemone sylvestris, another native to your area. Whatever the label, they are beautiful. “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” 🙂

Yep, I think you are right with the sylvestris… though the native variety is much smaller than this one. Right too that it doesn’t really matter 🙂

Beautiful flowers. At first I thought they were white poppies but now I’m pretty sure it’s a flower I haven’t seen before.I was bemoaning the fact ( to myself) that I haven’t seen bluebells or snowdrops since I was a child, this kind of makes up for it.

I think they are anemones, David… though I too wondered if they were poppies at first and I’m still not absolutely certain. They were lovely though, just a bright spot in a very rainy day. xxxx

Love this – and now the bluebells are out. And, for those who love garlic, the bluebells around here nestle next to the white flowers of garlic with their gorgeous broad green leaves. Jx
