I’m pumped up on steroids and antibiotics,
At least, just for once they don’t think I’m neurotic,
But do we have answers? Oh no, we do not,
They haven’t the foggiest clue what I’ve got.
My blood pressure’s fine, they are glad to report,
And all the mechanics seem just as they ought,
With doctorly skill and attentive detection,
They happily said they could find no infection.
Now, add in the headache, the aches and the pains,
And the bits that keep gurgling, rather like drains,
And the bits that won’t move, and the bits that are stuck,
That when they get moving make me cry, ‘Oh ****…’
Am I any wiser? Oh no, not a bit,
I’m not an antique yet, I’d rather be fit;
But this inflammation is taking its toll…
My eyes are so swollen I look like a mole.
No, not black and furry with velvety skin,
(Though that might be next, how does mole-dom begin?)
Now, this isn’t funny, I hope you’ll agree,
I’d even prefer looking something like me!
I’ve too much to do to be poorly, you know,
If it’s going to do it, it might as well snow
Giving me a day off just to curl up in bed…
Though I’d probably just walk the small dog instead.

Should have waited to post this until October 23: Mole Day 😉

Oh! I didn’t know there was one! 🙂

Yes indeed, because 6.02 times 10^23 is the number of particles in a “mole” in chemistry. Of course, it doesn’t work quite as well across the pond, since it’s 23 October (23-10) instead of October 23 (10-23).

I had no idea there was such a thing as a mole in chemistry, Noah!

Gosh, I hope you are feeling better. Sounds like an allergy or chemical sensitivity. Any clues?

Not an allergy it seems… and it has been bothering me for a year or two now with no clues yet.

Garry and I are also sick, so we are there with you. Well, not there, but in spirit at least. On the way to the doctor now. And it’s snowing. Just what we need. More snow.

Mmmmm sounds somewhat familiar. Go have yourself tested for rheumatoid arthritis, its worth it and do not panic.

They do that every so often… and no doubt will again. So far so good, though there is a lot of it in the family.

You are much too lovely to look like a mole – which are in fact rather ugly, I think. I’m sorry to hear that you are doing poorly, but got a real chuckle from your poem.

I rather like moles… but I was called one the other day … which probably isn’t a good look 🙂
My son doesn’t like them… he has them in his lawn and has tried everything humane to cntrol them… even sitting there with a worm on a fishing line to try and catch them…. seriously… 🙂

…. and the snow let me down too. Just a thin covering… not snowed in at all 😉
