Stoned in Glastonbury

SE NewBanner
On Thursday we will be in Glastonbury again. By ‘we’ I mean Steve, Stuart and myself on behalf of The Silent Eye, for the fourth of our talks under the aegis of the Glastonbury Reception Centre. The subject of the evening will be the Architecture of the Soul… not the easiest topic to address when every single person will have their own unique view, deeply rooted at a level that transcends thought.

We had to think about how we could address the subject. We could do a nice, professional presentation of what we think the soul might be… but where would that serve except to expound a personal opinion? We could examine other views, look at dogma and doctrine. But there are plenty of other ways to approach the concept of the soul if the intellect is the portal used. We wanted to do something different. We want to explore.

SE Teaching Enneagram Mat
There are many questions asked about the nature of the soul and we will be asking some of them but rather than giving answers didactically we will seek to open a pathway for each to find their own.

We decided to show a symbolic journey; that of the soul brought into incarnation and we have some  ideas on how we can illustrate that. One of them involves one of our number getting stoned and you are invited to come and join in.

Now then, before you jump to conclusions, it is not what you might be thinking. Think biblical instead… think pebbles… and no, that is not a note of unholy glee you can hear. Not at all… Regardless of anything Steve may have written on the subject….

Come along and join us, if you can in the Avalon Room in Glastonbury at 7.30 on Thursday evening. It could be fun…

Oh I did immediately think you meant someone would be getting high, and others could join in! That would definitely ensure a soulful trip individually experienced, but right actually throwing stones at someone… serious, somber, interesting questions about karma and personal responsibility for sure, what we carry with us, and the implications of mother earth’s bones being used to hasten a person’s placement in her care. Irony in that, no? I am not, actually, (fortunately :-)), a stone’s throw away across the pond. But since I am in fact across the pond and can’t make the talk, I do want to wish you all well!

      Thank you, Éilis.
The reference was a bit of fun… I did warn Steve I would not be able to resist using that idea 🙂 The serious side is that we have a symbolic idea for illustrating the nature of experience and how it accumulates to form the ego that is the vehicle of expression in which the incarnated soul moves through the world..
No directors will be damaged by the evening 🙂
      Well, hopefully 😉
