Dear Mum,

Hope you are having a good time in the north… without me. Yes, I know you are wandering the wild open spaces.. the ones with all the new smells and things to chase… and I know you are with my ball-throwing friend. .. I’m not daft.. well.. not that daft…But thats ok. I’m fine.

I don’t mind being abandoned here while you waltz off to play in the heather. Honest. I can live without tennis balls and snuggling up on your knee while you type.  Really. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine. I’m perfectly happy. You needn’t fret that I’m a miserable pup without you. I can manage…

Well, yeah… I know Gooch is one of my oldest friends…happy to share a bone with her anytime! And of course I like playing with her… and Hardy is so much younger than both of us… really fast… you should see us charge round the house…and he plays a great game of tug of war… but its not as if I’m having fun, of course…

Then there’s the two legged pup.. I mean, known him since he was whelped…gave him his first tennis ball when he was just a few days old…He’s coming on nicely .. runs about with us… talks to us.. yeah.. he’s ok… And his humans feed me and walk me.. and let me snuggle…

Well, alright then… as long as you are feeling suitably guilty… I might as well admit I’m having a ball while you are away. balls 193

But don’t think that lets you off the hook… I shall expect some major walks and lots of fetch when you get back…

… and a pig’s ear or two wouldn’t go amiss…

I still miss you though…

See you soon,

Much love,

Ani x
