I’m in the dog house again.
It was only a big lump of moss that the rain had washed off the roof. Even I was surprised just how far it went when I started taking it apart. And shaking it. And throwing it.
I was only amusing myself while she did cleaning stuff.
She’d made a mess anyway… disembowelling the hoover-monster with screwdriver thingys… dust went everywhere…
Which was a shame, really, as the place had looked quite nice when she’d just polished it…
The polish tickles my nose though… but the dust made me sneeze more…
I’d chased the invader for her too, of course. Didn’t catch it, mind you. It saw me coming and scuttled under the cupboard. I did try… but it wouldn’t play at all.
I stood guard too while she was busy. I didn’t want anyone coming near the house and hearing her … I’m pretty sure she was saying stuff she shouldn’t… Though I have a few choice words I’d like to growl about the hoover-monster myself…
She’d shut the curtains…I think she thinks it might stop me noticing people going past… no chance. And its not as if I can’t open them myself anyway…
So, as she was making funny noises, and covered in fluff… which she wouldn’t let me play with… which I thought was a bit mean really… I wandered outside to check on the pigeons. And there was this big lump of dry moss… Well, what would you have done? I thought it might be some sort of animal at first, all furry and brown… but no. Too light.
So I tossed it around a bit… and got into some serious play fighting while she wrestled the hoover-monster round the living room again. And did the polishing again. Still muttering. Best to keep a low profile…
Then it started raining.
She’d gone upstairs to do stuff in the bathroom with bleach… so I brought it inside to play with. No point getting wet… she’d only want to bath me… I’m waiting for that one… ‘n I was still trying to be helpful… she wouldn’t want to bath me after she’d cleaned the bathroom, now would she?
But honest, I didn’t think it would all fall apart…
Everywhere….
She came in and just stopped. Like a statue. Looking round, all wide eyes…Then she gave me that look. So I went and hid under her chair, very small, in the corner. Then she got the hoover-monster again…
She keeps looking at me, even though she shouldn’t be able to see me, ‘cause I’m not looking at her… and her eyebrows keep going up. But I can see her mouth twitching at the corners when I glance over. .. Maybe she’ll forgive me. She usually does. And there’s chicken in the fridge… I can tell…
She’s not too bad that way, you know. She’ll usually forgive me and give me a cuddle after a few minutes. But I feel awful, as if I’ve let her down. I always feel that way when she gives me that look. ‘Cause you try your best for your people, because you love them. Then it goes wrong, or you make a mistake … and they get cross or upset…But I know she’ll forgive me, she always does. And she’ll give me a cuddle so I know its forgotten.
And chicken too, if I’m lucky…
And it is tea time…
Much love,
Ani x

Ooh, Ani, I think you’re going to have to sing very small with Own Goddess for a while! She’ll forgive you in the end – she always does – but, you may have to give it the full huge winsome eyed bit and the plentiful licking of available skin bits; you might consider a very small localised pained whine just to remind her that your feelings have been hurt too. Good luck! Jumble says he knows all about the weird way our minds work. Cheek! xxx

Oh, so glad, Ani! Jumble here. Sneaked in while Own Goddess lifting leg against tree! You’ve obviously got yours well under your special canine control. ‘Spect she imagines that she’s the one in control, eh? Dear deluded soul! Bit thick, they ‘umans, eh?
Better go back to bed under table. Own God fussing about with chicken bones – and some might just fall my way. xxxx

Sue … I do (sort of) see Ani’s side here. It’s one our cats tried to explain to me after I caught Reggie scratching the couch. She looks up with those big innocent eyes as if to say, “What, I was only helping redecorate the place.)
Still, Ani, you have to clean up your act. I saw a cat (in a shark suit no less) riding on one of those Rhumba cleaners. Maybe if you do that and help Sue clean up, all will be forgiven. Then, you might score some chicken.
Wishing you all the best.
