A summer night

P1120057

The dog is laying at the door

I can’t blame her at all…

It’s hot tonight and thunder flies

Are covering the wall.

She’s wearing fur, I can’t complain

I’m robed in flimsy stuff

This little scrap of cotton robe

Is still more than enough.

She hasn’t been too well today

And had a poorly tummy…

She snuggled up despite the heat

And seemed to want her mummy..

Myself, I think it’s just a ploy,

Despite insistent licking…

And all the noxious gas attacks…

She’s only after chicken.

I fed her chicken for her tea

And gave her ice cream too..

So suddenly she’s full of beans

And bouncing round anew…

I really am a sucker

For this sneaky little pup,

She knows I’ll go that extra mile

If I think something’s up.

With big brown eyes she winds me

Round her paws with utter ease..

If all else fails she grins at me

As if to say. ‘Aw,please…”

I just give up, she always wins

With such a loving glance.

This whirly girl can melt my heart

I never stand a chance!

Ditto ditto ditto. I am the victim of constant sucker punching. I would not have it any other way;)

  3. Our furry companions really know how to get to us, don’t they? (You go, Ani.)

Mine seem to know exactly when dinner time is (early bird special is 4 pm if I’m home), and will insist that I drop everything at that hour and feed them. Their pleas are hard to ignore … or resist. 🙂

I don’t know if it’s only dogs and human munchkins who can do this, but they are just too darn clever sometimes 😀 Sometimes I still have to check myself around my little one.
