Notes from a small dog XX

Nope.. they ‘re not kisses after the title.. that’s my twentieth post! You can have kisses if you like…I can manage that, if you don’t mind….I sort of like being a lap dog, even though she says I’m too big for it. C’mon… how can a small dog be too big? You lot can be very inconsistent, you know.

Me, I’m consistent. Give me a ball and I will always be there… right beside you, with the ball at your feet.

I’ve had fun with the balls this week. We had my friend to stay and he’s fun. She laughs a lot and feeds him cheese and stuff… so I get cheese… and he knows how to play. He’s good with the ball too. He plays a lot, but when he gets tired he doesn’t just ignore me like some people… he makes it into another game, and that’s cool. He hides the ball… sometimes in plain sight too… but out of reach. Then he watches me watching the ball… so he’s still playing, really.

Mind, I can’t complain. They stay out late in the garden when it’s warm. She doesn’t do that when it is just me and her. I have to play out… erm… patrol the perimeter… on my own. Chasing moths is not as much fun. They stayed out talking so late the other night even I went to sleep out there! I’ve never done that before!

roobarb

He does keep calling me Roobarb, though, and talking about Custard and birds. I see no resemblance at all…

I like custard though. Not that we ever get it these days. She stopped cooking all the good stuff when the kids left home. The good old days had leftovers…and I am a well-trained garbage disposal unit. Professional, even. There used to be roast chicken… and sausages… even bacon….and treacle pudding and custard….

Someone ought to tell her I could waste away at this rate….

She did treat me to pigs ears though… she’s not all bad.

Time for a snooze before the postman turns up, I think. I’ll needOrc pic 004 all my energy for that…

Much love,

Ani x

I do love Ani. Love hearing about her day. So I’ve decided to put in a word on her behalf. Come on, make her some bacon …

  2. Happy 20th post, Ani. Just how do you get your paws on the keys without erring? My fingers are too fat for my Iphone.
Now, see hear. You certainly are a deprived dog. No custard and you’re begging for bacon? Well that just won’t do. You must have a firm talk with her … right after she plays a few rounds of ‘catch the ball.’ 🙂
