Ani’s Advent 2019! Christmas Eve…

Dear Santa,

It’s Christmas Eve! So this will be my last letter this year. I know you will be very busy.

I hope you will pop by tonight and see my tree. I knew she wouldn’t let me down. For all she grumbled that it seemed daft putting up a tree just for a dog, I saw her face when she looked at the old pictures…

I’ve always loved Christmas, ever since I was a pup. Since the first whiff of excitement and the first sight of a Christmas tree.

You can feel it in the air… and all the lights in the village at night. She always walks me through the streets at Christmas, at least once, instead of in the fields.

But although I do love my tree, and the presents that appear like magic underneath it, just for me,  though there is always something even better. I get to cuddle people. Whether they like it or not.

These days, they don’t come as much and not on Christmas day. One of them has her two-legged grandpups to look after and the others all have to be elsewhere.

But even so, they are still here. They will be thinking of me… and her, I s’ppose… and there is a lot of love in the air. And Every time I look at my Christmas tree, I can feel it and cuddle them in my heart.

And every Christmas morning has been the same, ever since I was a pup… The first things she will do is light up the tree for me in the dark to see if there are presents… and then we’ll play and cuddle, and go for a walk before she has to go out. Just me and her, together.

Now my eyebrows have gone grey and she says we are growing old together. At least on the outside. Inside, we will always be pups on Christmas morning.

I wish everyone could have a Christmas filled with so much love.

Give my best to Rudolph and the gang! Say thank you to them for all their hard work tonight. Make sure they know that I mean no disrespect by not wanting to wear antlers again this year.

I have to thank all my friends for saving me!

Happy Christmas, Santa!

Much love, Ani xxx

P.S. If you happen to see any antlers lying around when you call, you know what you can do with them… 😉

    Hi Ani,
We haven’t any ‘two legs’ grandchildren, but we do have three, four-legs. One is a large, German -shepherd called Brandy . and he would love you…the other two are (whispered quietly, cats…).one is a right ‘Princess’ called Lulu and the other a male called ‘Scruffs.’ Both quite sweet, really. You are very lucky to have such a loving two-legs. Enjoy your Christmas and be good! Hugs Joy xx

  4. I’ve got tears in my eyes. My furries are growing old too and I’m afraid we are getting too old to adopt new ones. I’m not sure I want more. Duke will be around for a long time, I hope. And I think the Scotties have some time left, but I don’t want to leave creatures homeless. I have a bag or fresh new balls for the kids. They are the ONLY thing that last longer than a few seconds.
