I remember when we were in Ireland hearing and seeing about how these invaded the countryside. Here, we buy them for our yards! Still, they can get quite unruly. I’ve got a couple that are quite large.

They are very beautiful and I love seing them in flower…. even the ones that have invaded the countryside…but they are smothering the native plants and their dense, evergreen canopy takes the light and ruins the habitat of the small creatures.
