Iron Tomb

Iron Tomb

Clanging, banging, irksome noise
Have the sense to show some poise
There within your dark confines
Just imagine your headlines

“Politician found in state
Well preserved, but clearly late
For appointments long past due
Now quite silent and subdued

That’s right, silent, who’d have guessed
There within a metal chest
Once proud family heirloom
Serving as the perfect tomb”

Keep it down, you’re all alone
Soon to be a pile of bones
No protest will change your fate
Your lame pleas come much too late

Now you know the true nature of the iron chest in the Thursday photo prompt – The Chest… #writephoto, by Sue Vincent (with her photo).
