Photo prompt round-up – The Tower… #writephoto

#writephotoThank you to everyone who shared their stories, photos and poems exploring the mystery of The Tower.  The photograph was taken at St Andrews in Scotland last year of the ruined West Front of the great medieval cathedral.

I have reblogged as many as possible and include links to all the original entries below. Thank you to everyone who took part, read, shared and commented.

Please click the links to read any you have missed and perhaps discover new blogs… we have new participants again this week! If you have written a post for the prompt and it does not appear here, please let me know in the comments so that I can include it here.

A new photo prompt will follow. Meanwhile…

The Tower

An eldritch glow clings to the ruined walls, brighter than the morning.

Power grows… pulsing to the rhythm of the waves… rising from the very heart of the land, called forth by ancient voices in a forgotten tongue.

The eagle knows, riding the spiralling current, keening to the wind.

Those who look into its heart see luminescent tendrils blossom, showering the morning with petals of light.

The somnolent multitude sees nothing but the pavement and the clock that hurries them towards the prison of desk and demanding duty.

We tender our silver at the turnstile and walk towards the ancient beacon…
