Back to the night they return…
They dance in the dark to pipe and drum and fiddle

Woven strands of the myths that probably pre-date Arthur by centuries… but are best known through the Arthurian tellings. It is going to be a good weekend. 🙂

It sounds like a lot of fun. I’ve always thought history was interesting, especially with an ancient myth or two thrown into the mix as well.

I’m not entirely sure you can separate the two. Most of the myths and legends would have had some basis in fact… even if symbolically.

Yes, that’s fascinating too — how a historical incident can take on a life of it’s own and develop down the centuries. I imagine the Arthurian legend, the tales of Robin Hood and the like will all have taken their original inspiration from something. (This is just an assumption on my part, though. I’m certain you’ll know much more about all this than I do.) 🙂
