This little bear was made by Laura, my granddaughter’s Mum… her clever fingers creating patchwork bears and keepsake quilts from favourite baby clothes, embroidered with baby’s name. I think it is a lovely idea and a wonderful way to preserve some of those very special memories, don’t you?

That is darling and so very creative! I still keep a box of my kids’ baby clothes and they are both in college now… π

That was Laura’s idea… you can’t keep everything… but making the blankets and teddy bears, she uses the ‘special’ bits… the motifs and embroideries… and makes something that can be kept and perhaps handed down. All hand sewn and embroidered too. Myself, I think she should set up a little business.

It’s a great idea and it looks so cute! Yes, she could make a business out of it, most definitely!

That’s cute. A very good idea, too. If not for the child, then the parents can cherish it.

That’s more the general idea, I think. The quilts Laura is making are being used as wall hangings π

My mom made quilts using all the scraps from clothes she sewed us all our lives. After she died, we enjoyed folding out the quilts and remembering all those outfits. I’ve done wall hangings for children, but really like the keepsake stuffed bear idea. (And parents/grandparent would gladly pay for these delightful creations. Quite beautiful)

That’s a lovely memory to have as a keepsake. I still remember the fabric of favourite childhood outfits of my own.
I agree though.. I think a good few people would be happy to invest in these little bears and quilts.

Very good idea and that little bear is so sweet! I have a box tucked away with little outfits I couldn’t bear to part with, so many sweet memories tied up in them. This might be a way to repurpose them. π

That’s the beauty of it for me.. The outfits may be too out of date for a new generation.. Teddy bears never are π

That is so true. Since we have sons, the women in their lives may not share the sentimentality of things that belonged to their men. I try to remember that!
