A gift

flowers 019

Some news that will bring major changes. Plans for the day scuppered at the last minute. The internet still on a stubborn go-slow, alternating with complete refusal to work at all… in spite of the new hub being delivered in record time….

Not what you would call the best of days so far and in fact I was feeling unusually down.

Ani barked… she sometimes does when I am leaving and I was heading to the village shop, my arms were full of stuff to take out to the car and I struggled to open the door… only to be met by a bouquet of flowers hovering in mid-air… accompanied by an apparently disembodied voice asking if I was Sue.

I duly confessed that I was as the flowers were deposited in my arms and a box of chocolates joined them.

I don’t think I have ever been more surprised… beautifully so.

I couldn’t imagine who had sent them…I read the card… and was touched by a message from a dear friend, bless her.

Which just goes to show that even when the day seems all doom and gloom, there are moments of bright beauty… and so often, they are the gift of friends.

Thank you xxx

  5. LOVELY bouquet 🙂 Our internet is also very slow. I think everyone is online and it’s only going to get worse. I reboot the modem and router and that helps. At least for an hour or so. Maybe it’s a sign we should not be online so much?
