Painted jewels

ben painting

The postman came early this morning, bringing a long awaited package from across the world.

I sit here with condensed energy in my hands… an inner life and joy, a yearning and a finding made visible and tangible in colour, texture and beauty.

And I am awed.

The paintings are the work of Benjamin Prewitt.

There is nothing quite like being up close and personal with the work of an artist. Galleries cannot permit the indulgence of the senses that allows the skin to experience the texture of a painting with eyes closed, tracing the patterns of energy and movement with a fingertip. It is a wholly sensual moment that engages every level of being.

Photographs cannot do them justice. The colour has to be seen with eyes in a clear light to understand how it sings, the texture a play of light and shadow that is very much alive, capturing imagination’s heart and drawing you in.

To welcome real art into your own home is a magical thing, for a carries the touch of another heart and soul within its play of light and shade.

And when it comes with friendship the words are simply not enough.

Cossroads, prewitt

  1. Beautiful! And I thought I was the only one who likes to touch paintings. But all the do not touch signs in museums and galleries made me do it!

  8. Amazing! As the centerpiece between my two friends, I feel I have one hand in his and one in yours and the picture went before my eyes as it passed from him to you! It is lovely!
