The postman came early this morning, bringing a long awaited package from across the world.
I sit here with condensed energy in my hands… an inner life and joy, a yearning and a finding made visible and tangible in colour, texture and beauty.
And I am awed.
The paintings are the work of Benjamin Prewitt.
There is nothing quite like being up close and personal with the work of an artist. Galleries cannot permit the indulgence of the senses that allows the skin to experience the texture of a painting with eyes closed, tracing the patterns of energy and movement with a fingertip. It is a wholly sensual moment that engages every level of being.
Photographs cannot do them justice. The colour has to be seen with eyes in a clear light to understand how it sings, the texture a play of light and shadow that is very much alive, capturing imagination’s heart and drawing you in.
To welcome real art into your own home is a magical thing, for a carries the touch of another heart and soul within its play of light and shade.
And when it comes with friendship the words are simply not enough.

Awareness matters
This month is Parkinson’s Awareness Month globally, andAwareness Week UK. Please show your support for those who live with Parkinson’s, those who care, and those who seek to find new treatments for this progressive condition that can strike any one of us at any age. Thank you.

Beautiful! And I thought I was the only one who likes to touch paintings. But all the do not touch signs in museums and galleries made me do it!

Ah.. I can relate to that.. nothing like a ‘do not’ to make me want to either 🙂
But something as tactile as these are almost demanding to be touched…

Yes, I believe in person art is always better. But they still look wonderful from the photos 🙂

Have you wandered over to Benjamin’s blog and seen the rest of his work? I’d rehome the lot if I could….

Oh yes, I follow Benjamin’s blog 🙂 He’s prolific. I am amazed he does all of those paintings in what seems like such little time.

Amazing! As the centerpiece between my two friends, I feel I have one hand in his and one in yours and the picture went before my eyes as it passed from him to you! It is lovely!
