Notes from a small dog LV

walk 080It’s spring, people! You can tell… it’s not as muddy any more … which should please her, ‘cause it means less grumbling about paws and cream coloured sofas. And I sort of like it because she’s happy to go for even longer walks if it’s not cold.

I do feel a bit sorry for you two-legses in winter… Them Up There didn’t see fit to give you much in the way of fur, did They? So you freeze in winter and burn in summer… and she tries to tell me that’s called evolution? Yeah, right! And we won’t even go into the amount of time you seem to spend cutting and shaving off the little bit you do have… Strange creatures…

Ah well, each to their own, I suppose.

walk 053The walks are getting good though… she is so funny, you know. I have a feeling even other two legs think she’s a bit strange. She gets down on the floor to look at flowers and then stands looking up at the sky sort of squeaking as the Big Birds fly over. Now, I could understand it if we never saw them, but we get to see them every day… and every day she is bouncing up and down squeaking quietly like pup. On the odd occasion when they come right down to check what on earth this two legs is doing, she even makes little ‘whoo-hoo’ noises.

Somebody ought to tell her these aren’t owls, you know.

Like I said… strange creature…

walk 014I wonder if she thinks she’s a bird? I think she might be nesting too… there’s Stuff going on and I don’t like it. She seems to be doing things… a bit like me rearranging stuff for my bed, but she’s doing it and then not sleeping… she’s just rummaging. I worry about her sometimes, you know, but she says she doesn’t need to see the vet.

She says its normal! Yeah…. And cats’ might fly… even without me chasing them.

Look… she’s at it again! The hoover monster is out already and I haven’t even had breakfast yet!

She really has some explaining to do, you know. I think I need to sit her down on the sofa and have a long talk… we might have to have a cuddle at the same time. Cuddles are good… they calm you down… and if she won’t go to the vets, I think she needs all the cuddles she can get at present. She looks like a wild woman dashing round in the scruffy pink think and muttering about time and clocks. With her bit of fur standing out round her head.

What is it with this clock thingy? The sun comes up… I wake up. It goes down, I go to sleep… when I’m hungry, I east, when I’m tired, I snooze. Seems logical to me.. yet you always seem to be dashing and watching the little numbers instead of looking at the sun or listening to your body. Seems odd to me.

I think I need to take charge…

walk 056Mind, her bag is in the hallway, and that probably means she’s thinking ‘bout escaping for a bit again. She hasn’t stuffed it yet, so she won’t be going today… I know her. I can always tell what she’s up to next… I pay attention you see.

Ani girlStill, that means I’ll be going to play with Gooch and co., so that’s not so bad 🙂

Much love,

Ani xxx

They’m weirder and weirder, Ani – your Goddess sounds like she be barking mad. I do reckon it be saprising (whatever that do be – sort of surprise, I reckon) time of year and all over rabbits and other soft chasy things on little leggies, yum yum. My Own Goddess she done put me on lead – wag wag, plenty much ‘citement – and then she do slow stroll down to Po Stoffice to send big fat parcel, and she do tie me up outside, silly bag. Still, I did doing catching up with Peemails on post – and Toby down road having trouble with big cats again, and Nettie in very interesting state! ‘Gree with you ’bout gods dashing all over shop. Why they not stop and just be like what we do? Eh? Still, they not all bad – got heap big bit of beef yesterlastdayweek, and ‘borrowed’ half a loaf too. Bye! Elbmuj xxx

Jumble!!! Haven’t heard from you in AGES 🙂 And I thought you’d forgotten me *wags tail*

Well, yours is probably as weird as mine.. they seem to have a lot in common, those two…

Mine’s found a wicked placefor walks, with streams an’ ducks and ponds and EVERYTHING… and there’s no roads so I don’t have to have the leash thingy. ‘Cept near the sheep. I only want to say hello but she seems to think that might not be a good idea….

I got cheese yesterday… lots of camembert. Too much to eat at one go, so I buried it in the sofa. I really don’t understand it when she shrieks…

      Much love,
      Ani xxxx

Ani, I agree. Those two legs need to grow fur. Have fun enjoying spring – you can always walk through some puddles to get the mud off your paws before tackling that sofa!

  5. You think you have it bad, Ani? My human threw something called a blog party over the weekend. He seriously thought other human boggers ,as I call them, were here in my domain. It was glug, glug, glug with the strange liquid stuff that is delivered by Majestic Wine every week (I like the human who delivers the stuff cause he always brings me a treat) and, tap, tap, tap on the keyboard thingy, all weekend.

I think he needs to go see the vet as well.

Honestly.. if they didn’t have us to watch over then, they would lose the plot completely, wouldn’t they? Take mine… she’s dashing between the ‘puter and the easel every two minutes today.. she could probably do with some of that red stuff too. It usually comes with cheese, so I wouldn’t complain either 😉

  6. I suggest we throw a cheese and red stuff party next time the human here decided he is going to have a blog hopping party. I’ve never seen a blog hop, have you? I thought only those rabbits who produce the nice tasting poo did that?

Lots of tail wags and doggy sniffing,
    Toby

Ani, keep watch and be patient. I’m sure you can be in charge whenever you want. Just keep her convinced she’s in charge. It won’t be difficult. Happy spring!

  11. Perhaps she was spring cleaning Ani! But I do think she really ought to see the vet…you just don’t know do you? And you need to be sure nothing’s terribly wrong with her!! 😉 The walks should be doing her good though….calm her down…she sounds a bit over-excitable to me… maybe you should try changing her diet…and maybe hide those pesky clock thingies 🙂 Of course nothing beats a good cuddle though!
