My son’s wetroom is currently spread between the lounge, the bedroom and the car park… not much of it is actually in the bathroom. The spare bedroom that became the gym is covered in wet paint and dustsheets… because somebody, who shall remain nameless, decided that now would be a perfect time to strip it out and turn it into a bedroom again.
Everything that was in there is now spread throughout the house, mixed in with bathroom fittings and bits of arcane pipework. The entire place… and my car too… is covered in a thick pall of stone dust from the travertine tiles that are being cut to shape. And he wants to tile the kitchen next…
Everywhere you walk, you fall over electricians, tilers and plumbers and I keep running out of mugs for their tea…
I can neither locate nor access half the stuff I need to run his home… but that’s okay as my next job is to clear the shed to make room for the spare freezer that I’ll have to carry out there… that is after the new bedroom furniture arrives for me to lug in and assemble today.
And some people (who will continue to remain nameless…) think I have an easy job…

Your “some people” and my Mr Ill-Advised have rather a lot in common. Can’t one of the workmen help you move the freezer. You will hurt yourself if you do that.

that rather depends if any have showed up wen it needs moving… 😉

I am with Robbie ask one of the workmen to help you maybe a couple might help. You must not hurt yourself anymore Sue ,who’d look after you if you were layed up. Also who’d look after you know who too. Send careful vibes and praying you get a rest soon 💜💜💜💜

It takes two men and a boy to lug a freezer. Don´t try it on your own even if you are Superwoman!!

Be sure to pace yourself, Sue… you shouldn’t try to do everything in one day! ( I tell myself this often, and one of these days I’ll listen!)

You get the “mom of the year” medal today, Sue. You’re going to carry the freezer??? Before of after you assemble the bedroom furniture? Take good care of your back, my friend. A long soak before bed, I hope.

Sue. Don’t be foolish. Get someone to give you a hand. Our bones don’t recover so fast anymore. 🙂 ❤

Well, I’d think of plan B before you put your own back out and then who will help? A neighbor? A friend? Other son? 🙂

Oh, my goodness! I can only imagine the chaos! Fingers crossed that this clears up soon. I bet it will all be stunning when it’s finished. It seems like it always something with houses. We bought this house new last year, already built. The shower pan in the master bath is so slippery we can barely use it. Finally, we found a company that will coat the shower pan with a textured fiberglass they paint on. The smell is so bad that we will have to vacate our bedroom for 3 days! I can sympathize with you, for sure Sue. I’m with you: “I put my faith in magic!” LOL! ❤

Debby is right. I’m like you with a ‘can do’ attitude… but all it takes is one wrong pull or step. Last weekend I was standing on the roof of my Jeep to reach the tall benches that needed to to be cut. Not wise. Get extra hands if you can.

I feel so much better. Thank you! It’s the heavy stuff that’s the killer. Today I moved ladders and dug up rocks. No problem. I crawled under the porch and through the woods to find big rocks. We can do that stuff. Not the heavy lifting and moving. It’s hard to ask for help, but throwing out your back and not being able to help your son would be far worse.

Just because we can and always have, doesn’t mean we should…and that’s not an easy lesson to learn. I’m not happy about it 😉

Oh dear! Hope it is all sorted out for you soon. My ‘some people’ spilt milk all over my fridge this morning, drank too much… and were probably sick too. I’ll see when the culprit/s surface from bed. Fairly minor compared to your inconvenience though!
