Dear Don: Dragon…

Arbor Low and Stanton Moor Imbolc 001 (121)Dear Don,

‘Morphology of the Dragon’… that has to qualify as a chapter title… I really think that between that photo and the lay of the land, you are on to something with Uffington, you know. That would explain the zoological debate there…or move it firmly into the arena of cryptozoology.

I like that expression, you know… ‘lay of the land’, when a lay is poem meant to be sung. Mind, I like your idea of the Philistines being Lovers of Stone… You know they are thought by some to have been the Sea Peoples of the Rameses inscriptions? They ended up rebuilding cities for Rameses III, so stone might have featured largely in their lay…

Another one of the ‘Songs of the Stone’?

Those particular stones may well be ‘recent’… and to us certainly… and given our recent experiences with stones being anywhere but where they should be, do we have any certainty they were ever there before we noticed them?

Mind… I found came across another on the way back from our last adventure… it just happened to be right next to the road over the moor…Not sure how we missed it. Of course, that too could be a new arrival… possibly overnight…
