The Small Dog gets muddy…

There’s muddy pawprints everywhere

Because of all the flooding…

In spite of doing all I can

I’m always traipsing mud in.

*

She says I’m more important

Than her rug or reputation…

I’m glad of that assurance

Given all the devastation…

*

She says it’s not my fault

My feet are furry and collect it…

And put a blanket down

Upon my sofa to protect it…

*

She says she’s glad we’ve just a rug

And hard floors all the rage…

Not wall to wall Axminster

In a dodgy shade of beige.

*

She says her knees are aching

With the scrubbing she’s being doing…

And that, if I’m not careful,

That I too will need shampooing!

*

But if she says she’s bathing me

Just ‘cause I brought outside in…

I’ll dig a hole beneath the fence

And find a den to hide in!

  1. Hi Ani. Oh, she’s not threatening shampoo, is she? I love baths, but even I draw the line at that (it’s only the water part I like). What is it with them and that stinky smelling stuff? Why would they want us to smell like flowers? I just don’t get it! Anyway, have fun in the mud and puddles, and I hope she doesn’t make good on her shampoo threat. Lots of licks, Lilie

Oh dear. What a mess you brought in, Ani. Still, it’s muddy everywhere these days. I’m glad she doesn’t blame you. I hope you escape the bath!

Oh, Ani, tell her to wait until spring for a bath. It’s pointless now when the weather is continuing to be so awful. You’ll be wet and muddy again in no time. Then, maybe by spring she’ll have forgotten.

Quite delightful, Sue! (Not the mud….)” Just give your kind human another one of those melting looks, Ani, and she’ll forgive you (Not as though it’s your fault there’s such a lot of the horrid stuff!)”
    “It’s raining yet again, Mum
    and I need to do a pee…
    You’re lucky you’ve a bathroom
but think of poor ol’ me…
    I’ve heard it’s Mother Nature’s fault
    for sending so much rain.
Can you send an email, please,
and ask her to refrain?!” xx

That darn mud, it gets everywhere. Not too much of it in Spain. I’m trying to avoid a bath as well as they mention I was smelling like a dead seagull. Licks, Dot!

Ani, your two-legged has the patience of a saint! I know she knows you can’t help it, but still. What’s with the flooding – did you get a ton of rain? or Snow? I’m going to look for rubber boots x 4 for you!

Oh! It’s so muddy, and your too legs is doing her best.
Love those photos of Ani, Ruby is still unwell. She still has the runs though the vomitting seems to has stopped. She is eating and drinking careful ( very unusual for a Labrador). She went nearly 24 hrs eating nothing and hardly drinking either. We are glad she is showing signs of improvement but she is still very lethargic. Fingers crossed she keeps improving 💜💜💜
