Look, you know what she does to me at Christmas. The one day when two-legses go around talking about peace and love… and what does mine do?
Every year?
Ruddy antlers.
If Dog had meant us to have antlers, we’d grow them ourselves.
Anyway, as always, the deal is that if my furry friends will fill my Advent Calendar,
she won’t do it this year.
Okay, she said that last year too, but at least they were proper-looking antlers.
Though I could have lived without the flowery things.
So, as always, I’m sending out the call…
Calling all my furred, feathered and scaly friends!
HELP!!!
Send me your letters to Santa, your Christmas memories, hopes, poems and stories
and I will publish them every day from the first of December to Christmas.
Antlers are for Reindeer!
If you would like to help save Ani from a fate (she says) worse than death, send your Letters to Santa, festive memories, short stories, flash fiction or poems to the Small Dog. She will post them every day through December until Christmas.
She would especially like to hear from her four-legged or feathered friends (she has a special place very close to her heart for turkeys)… but she says that two-legs are better than none, so she will accept submissions from humans too.

I mention it to all of the furry kids in this house and the canines are all in but the cats think it’s funny to dress dogs up. We’ll have to see who wins 😉

My roommates dog does the same thing.
I really miss my old girl, she had the most expressive eyes, and smiled too. Her whole upper jowl would rise and she would even smile on command. It was hilarious. 😁

I’m with you there, Ani, I had to wear antlers for a Greyhound Rescue photo shoot last Christmas and it didn’t feel good at all. Thankfully, that particular photo wasn’t used in the campaign.
Gotta say, though, the flowery things look dead cute on you!

Oh, Ani, I’m so sorry but I laughed out loud at the picture with the antlers. It’s degrading, I understand, but Christmas only comes once a year. Hang in there!

Oh gosh Ani, I’d hate for you to have to wear the dreaded antlers. I will do my best to contribute and I’ve shared around social media to try and help you out. The only thing furry I have around here though are my lounge pants and sweat shirt to keep warm LOL ❤

Those flowered antlers take the Christmas cake, Ani. I know they’re dreadfully embarrassing, but they do look pretty adorable. <3. I may have to implore the wild forest critters around here to answer your call. We'll see what they come up with. 🙂
