Thursday photo prompt: Imagination #writephoto

Something a bit different this week…

Use the image below as inspiration to create a post on your own blog… poetry, prose, humour… light or dark, whatever you choose, by noon (GMT)  Wednesday 23rd January and link back to this post with a pingback to be included in the round-up.  There is no word limit and no style requirements, except to keep it fairly family friendly.

(Feel free to ignore the road sign in the photo, unless that works with your story…)

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a piece of street art; a woman, veiled and crowned with greenery, shown in profile. She is painted against a holo of flame colours with a stained glass winddow effect and surrounded by white flowers on a black background. The woman is painted as transparent, showing her skeleton and brain through the flesh. The brain glows from within, and appears tohold figures…

All posts will be featured in the round-up on Thursday January 24th at 10am GMT, linking back to the original posts of contributors. Throughout the week I will feature as many of the responses here on the Daily Echo as space allows and (more or less) in the order in which they come in.

You can find all last week’s entries in the weekly round-up. Please visit and read the stories and poems and explore the sites of their writers. I will feature as many contributions as I can on the blog during the week.

Sue Vincent was a Yorkshire born writer, esoteric teacher and a Director of The Silent Eye. She was immersed in the Mysteries all her life. Sue maintained a popular blog and is co-author of The Mystical Hexagram with Dr G.M.Vasey. Sue lived in Buckinghamshire, having been stranded there due to an accident with a blindfold, a pin and a map. She had a lasting love-affair with the landscape of Albion, the hidden country of the heart. Sue  passed into spirit at the end of March 2021.

    Here’s a rather interesting photo prompt.
    For you who are visually challenged, this photo is described.
    Please do have a look and if you’re so inspired, please do take part.
    I for one don’t have a clue what to do with this one.
    That may change but in the meantime I shall be watching to see what others might do.

    I love your pictures. I’m just not doing much in the way of prompts right now. I feel very over-prompted. I don’t mind photographic ones because it gives me a chance to raid my 100,000 picture files.

    But writing? I’ve been writing a lot less and when I do, I want it to be whatever I want to say assuming I have something to say — which is becoming increasingly rare. Sometimes I hook a piece onto a prompt, but really, I wrote the piece before and the prompt sort of fit.
