Running silent(ish)

The recent bout of lurgy
Made a bee-line for my eyes,
So, although I’m feeling better,
It was really no surprise
That every post I scheduled,
Both the reblogged ones and mine,
I found I’d set for publishing
In twenty-sixty-nine.

The keyboard’s playing up again,
My fingers are no better,
Between them I’m mistyping stuff
And every other letter
Is disappearing, though I’ve pressed
With forefinger and thumb
(Though keys may just be sticking
On an errant Christmas crumb…)

And so, now posts are scheduled,
What with hands and eyes that ache,
I’m turning the computer off
And giving them a break.

Okay, I’ll be checking in, but my time online will be minimal for a few days, while my eyes get chance to sort themselves out.

About Sue Vincent

Sue Vincent was a Yorkshire born writer, esoteric teacher and a Director of The Silent Eye. She was immersed in the Mysteries all her life. Sue maintained a popular blog and is co-author of The Mystical Hexagram with Dr G.M.Vasey. Sue lived in Buckinghamshire, having been stranded there due to an accident with a blindfold, a pin and a map. She had a lasting love-affair with the landscape of Albion, the hidden country of the heart. Sue  passed into spirit at the end of March 2021.

Oh, I’m sorry about your eyes. I have dry eyes and know how horrible it is to have sore eyes. I use a spray which you spray on the eyelids and it helps – as long as I do it before my eyes are red and stinging and watering (despite being ‘dry’ my eyes still water), whch of course I never do because when they’re fine I forget about them. And, yes, the computer screen is one of the worst culprits. I hope a few days away from the screen will help.

It’s a good idea to give your eyes a rest
That is definitely for the best
In a few days you can put them through the test
And if they pass you’ll feel less stressed.

Oh, Sue. Don’t assume a few days away from the screen will fix it. Eyes give you clues if something is not right. Hopefully you only need rest. Regardless, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Great idea Sue. Step aside from the computer. We all need a break – especially a technical break. Our eyes will thanks us. Feel better soon. ❤
