I haven’t taken part in Sue’s Thursday Photo Prompt for  a while, so nice to spin a little tale for her. An old favourite of mine returns, Little Troll. This time he’s on a break with his friend, Adrian, a former monk turned small business owner. Best not to ask what type of business.

Adrian recommended a nice little retreat for the two of them. Somewhere in the Highlands of Scotland, as far away from human habitation as possible. The reality is that they ended up somewhere on the western side of Scotland, in Wester Ross, in an inhabited  area. Adrian and Little Troll were great fans of Game of Thrones and thought the region sounded rather like Westeros. They were hoping similar adventures were to be had on this retreat.

As Adrian was a former member of a religious order you would think he knew a little about retreats and the contemplative life. He did, but relished the freedom of doing very little contemplating and a lot of retreating. From disgruntled customers and shady characters, who may or may not had underworld connections, of the supernatural kind.
